BEAMS AND TRUSSES

Add to the narrative of a project by incorporating our reclaimed beams and joists. Our customs team can craft beams and joists into newel posts, stair treads, trusses, mantels, shelving and other decorative and functional custom applications to match your vision.

For decorative or structural trusses, an architectural drawing is required for a quote. All structural components will need to be approved by a structural engineer prior to fabrication. If you need either service, we can build them into your quote as we partner with architects and structural engineers who have extensive experience in beams, trusses and timber frames to ensure expert execution.

In house design work may incur a fee. We have set minimums for custom work. Please inquire for more information here or by calling your sales representative.

SOLID BEAMS

Solid new growth beams can be used to create structural components. Whether you need trusses, columns or an entire timber frame, we can help you source, fabricate and install these components in your next project.

Solid reclaimed beams are beautiful and can be used in many places in a project such as stair posts, mantles, shelves and more. Our standard inventory of reclaimed beams are not graded for structural use and we suggest instead that box beam construction with steel posts is utilized in structural applications to avoid the reclaimed beam bearing weight. Reclaimed beams can be used for some limited structural applications but sourcing and grading these beams may extend lead time.

BOX BEAMS

Box beams in reclaimed and new growth wood are a perfect way to create the look of a wood beam without the weight of a solid beam. Beam skins of your choice of species and texture are glued to high quality plywood for stability and mitered together for a seamless edge.

Uses for box beams include:

Wrapping functional and structural components
Built in lighting
Faux trusses and columns
Create longer or wider beams than can be sourced solid

End grain caps can be added to the end of your box beams to give the appearance of a solid beam.

Our reclaimed beams are sourced as mixed species to guarantee the best price while matching the client dictated dimensions. Species can be specified for additional upcharge. Sizes, species and lead time are all dependent on availability. Building around standard specifications can minimize lead times and cost.
