STANDARD LIMITED WARRANTY

The Standard Limited Warranty applies to products used only in dry residential and commercial applications. The warranty begins on the Date of Purchase and is in effect for one year (“effective period”). This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and covers material installed at the original installation site only. This warranty does not convey to subsequent owners if transfer of ownership occurs within the effective period of the coverage.

STANDARD LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE

Standard Limited Warranty – Surface Architectural Supply warrants that paneling and flooring sold in its original manufactured condition are free from defects in material and workmanship including dimension and grading. In the unlikely event of warping, cupping or other product manufacturing defects, Surface Architectural Supply will replace or repair the defective product at no cost to the purchaser provided the defect is reported as required in our Terms and Conditions and prior to installation.

EXCLUSIONS TO WARRANTY

The following will void / are not covered by this warranty:

• Improper Installation. Installation must comply with the NWFA Installation Guidelines found on our website.
• Installation indicates acceptance of the material in the condition in which it was received. Products deemed to have possible defects must be returned to Surface Architectural Supply prior to installation for proper service of this warranty.
• Improper Maintenance. The maintenance instructions found on our website must be followed to ensure the integrity of the product. Flooring and paneling must not be wet mopped or steam cleaned.
• Extreme Conditions. The humidity level at the installation site must be between 45% – 65% throughout the year. Air conditioners, humidifiers or dehumidifiers may be used as deemed necessary.
• Abuse or Misuse. This warranty does not cover damage cause by high heeled shoes, heavy furniture or equipment, pet claws, pet urine, pebbles, sand or other items that may scratch, indent or damage the floor.
• Insect Infestation. This warranty does not cover any insect infestation after the product has left the factory.
• Minor Separations. Flooring manufactured by Surface Architectural Supply is a natural wood product that will continue to expand and contract during seasonal and other temperature changes.  Properly installed products may experience slight movement and separation between boards. These minor separations, within industry standards, are not covered.
• Natural Wood Characteristics. Mineral streaks, small knots, grain variation, etc. are normal wood characteristics and should not be construed as defects. It is implicitly understood that no two pieces of wood are the same and color or other characteristic variations will occur. Surface does not guarantee against natural variations nor the normal difference between color samples or photographs and the actual color of the installed flooring.
• Accidents or Disasters. This warranty will be void if man-made or natural disasters such as leaking or broken plumbing, fire, flood, earthquake, or standing water occur during or after installation.
• Exposure to Light. Changes in color due to full or partial exposure to sunlight may lighten or darken the product. This environment impact is a natural occurrence and is not covered by this warranty.
• Structural Changes. Damage to the product due to structural changes in the subfloor, settling of the building, or uneven subfloor that has not been properly leveled is not covered by this warranty.
• Fixture Removal or Replacement. This warranty does not cover damage caused by the removal or replacement of cabinets, appliances, furniture or other fixtures.
• Gloss Reduction. Gloss reduction is not considered wear and is not covered.
• Freight cost is not covered under this warranty.

Surface Architectural Supply excludes and will not pay consequential or incidental damages under this warranty.  Repair, refinish, or replacement of flooring material is the sole remedy.
