Hand hewn beams are an ode to those who built everything by hand. Before sawmills, when a tree was felled to create a support structure, it was squared by hand most often with a broad axe. These beams were then assembled into frames with mortises, tenons, and trunnels all hand cut from wood. We honor the work put into these beams by preserving the character of the material.
