Reclaimed Heart Pine

Smooth | Select Grade | Tung Oil Finish

Early American settlers discovered a vast forest over 95 million acres spanning from the Southern Atlantic shoreline to the Mississippi River of Longleaf Pine, which we now refer to as Heart Pine. The heartwood of these slow-growing trees matured in 400 to 500 years creating dense, heavy, insect-and rot-resistant, incredibly hard wood, unequaled in beauty, strength and durability. These trees were nearly timbered to extinction. The only way to get Heart Pine now is through reclaiming old structures such as factories and textile mills. Our Select Grade Heart Pine features choice characteristics such as small knots, little color variation, and a mix of grain. Perfect for any project that needs some variation in their floors but doesn’t want all of the character of our Cabin Grade.
